Sprint and Motorola Team Up to Sell Windows Business Phone Systems

There is a new business phone system in San Antonio on the horizon for corporate Sprint customers. On Thursday, Motorola announced plans to use Microsoft Corp software to create a new smart phone. Sprint, the number 3 cell phone company in the nation, has offered to sell the phone to business customers.

At an event to unveil the ES400, Motorola stated that the phone is scheduled to be released this September. The phone will run on Microsoft 6.5 software, which Motorola uses for corporate customers. Their consumer cell phones are usually equipped with Android software, which has been consistently beating Microsoft software for consumer cell phones, from Google Corp.

Microsoft announced plans to release Windows Embedded Handheld later this year, which is an advanced version of Windows 6.5 being created for business use. When the software is released, Motorola has stated their intentions to upgrade the ES400 device with the newer version, though they did not mention any time frame for the upgrade.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer appeared at the Motorola event by sending a video statement. He announced plans to create a newer version of Windows Embedded Handheld in 2011 that will be based on their Windows 7 software for businesses.

Once developed this phone should have excellent coverage across the State of Texas as well as major metropolitan areas around the United States.
